Hon. Felicia Adjei, Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, has urged the government to bolster support for young entrepreneurs and tackle irregular immigration in Ghana.

During a parliamentary address, Hon. Adjei underscored the struggles of many young Ghanaians who, facing limited job prospects, inadequate support, and harsh economic conditions, often resort to irregular migration in pursuit of a better life.

The Kintampo South MP outlined several key proposals to mitigate this issue.

She advocated for expanded opportunities for young entrepreneurs, suggesting greater access to funding, training, and mentorship to empower them in establishing and scaling successful ventures.

Furthermore, she pressed the government to simplify business registration procedures and expedite the Ghana Investment and Startup Bill’s passage, thereby easing the path for young individuals to launch businesses and secure capital.

She also emphasized the need for Ghana to foster creativity and innovation by safeguarding young entrepreneurs’ intellectual property.

Collaboration, she added, is crucial, calling for government agencies, private sector entities, and civil society organizations to unite in providing holistic support to young entrepreneurs.

Hon. Adjei specifically called on the government to accelerate the Ghana Investment and Startup Bill’s drafting process and develop robust policies to aid young entrepreneurs.

“By working together,” she stated, “we can cultivate an ecosystem that champions young people, stimulates innovation, and drives economic growth.”

This initiative promises not only individual benefits but also significant contributions to the nation’s progress and development.

Ultimately, by empowering its young entrepreneurs, Ghana can significantly curb irregular immigration, spur economic advancement, and forge a more promising future for its youth.
