Dr. Clement Apaak, the Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has laid a wreath in memory of the eight individuals who died in a recent helicopter crash.

The Deputy Minister had previously conveyed his condolences and called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident. He also proposed that the nation honour the memory of the deceased for their service and dedication to the country.

On the eve of laying flowers at the Jubilee House, Dr. Apaak penned a heartfelt letter honoring the lives lost and calling for both justice and a proper tribute to their dedicated service to the nation.

Like many, Dr. Apaak expressed his profound grief and hoped to find the strength to attend the remembrance service and lay flowers for the eight victims on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He shared his sorrow and personal memories, emphasising the close bonds and shared aspirations that were tragically cut short.

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Apaak, recounted his personal connections with some of the deceased. He recalled his final conversation with Dr. Omane Boamah about a teacher in need, Murtala’s good-natured teasing, Limuna’s planned discussion on an education project, and a recent meeting with Dr. Samuel Sarpong to formalise national policy ideas.

Dr. Apaak stressed that the most fitting way to honour their memory is for the country to take a firm stand against illegal mining, known as galamsey, and demand clear answers regarding the cause of the tragedy.
