A former Member of Parliament for the Tain constituency, Mr. Gabriel Osei, has revealed that he will personally finance or sponsor the arrest of Kelvin Taylor under a New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

He stated that the social media content creator must face the law for his verbal attacks, insults, and derogatory remarks about people.

The former lawmaker criticised the ruling government, accusing it of providing protection to Kelvin Taylor when he should instead be behind bars for his unsavory remarks about former President Akufo-Addo, traditional leaders, and other individuals.

He was reacting to the arrest, detention, and alleged abuse of Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC.

He said Abronye DC, as he is affectionately called, was treated as a criminal until he was finally granted bail for allegedly insulting the Inspector General of Police and other individuals.

Although he condemned Abronye over his insults and outbursts, he also described his arrest and detention as an abuse of power on the part of the government.

Speaking in an interview with Sir Richie on “As It Is in Ghana” on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM via a telephone, he noted that Kelvin Taylor must face the music just as Abronye is, and should the NPP return to office, he will personally finance the arrest and prosecution of Kelvin Taylor.

“When Kelvin Taylor came into Ghana, he was provided security protection. If tomorrow I also win power and use it to intimidate people, would I be faulted? If Abronye did something wrong, I will condemn it, and that should be the same for the others who had also insulted people in the past, including Kelvin Taylor. He has insulted everybody, including the Okyehene, Dormaahene, Asantehene, and other people, including Akufo-Addo. When he arrived in Ghana, he was protected by the state, but Abronye was immediately arrested after they claimed he had insulted the IGP.

They wanted to show Abronye where power lies. Some people were jubilating over his arrest. I am not supporting what he did, but if he had been arrested, why is Kelvin Taylor walking free? This is undemocratic. I will personally sponsor and finance the arrest and prosecution of Kelvin Taylor under a new NPP government. I repeat, if Kelvin Taylor is not arrested, I will sponsor to have him arrested when the NPP takes over office.”
