The press release also confirmed that two police officers sustained injuries during the attack.

A police reinforcement team was deployed to the scene and was able to restore calm.

The police said that the video of the attack on the police is being reviewed, and those responsible will be arrested and prosecuted.

“Video footages of the attack on the police station are being reviewed and the perpetrators will be identified, arrested and brought to justice.

The police have also assured the deceased’s family and community leaders of a thorough investigation and have urged the public to use lawful means to resolve issues instead of resorting to violence.

The Police Professional Standards Bureau and the Criminal Investigations Department have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the suspect.

“The Eastern Regional Police Command has engaged the deceased’s family and other community leaders and assured them of a thorough investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the Police Professional Standards Bureau and the Criminal Investigations Department have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of the suspect.”
