DStv subscribers to enjoy 33%-50% increase in value – Communications Minister announces

September 29, 2025
Sam George

Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has announced that DStv subscribers are set to enjoy more value for their money starting October 1, 2025.

He stated that subscribers will enjoy a 33 to 50 percent reduction in effective cost following new arrangements agreed upon between the government and MultiChoice Africa.

Mr. Nartey George disclosed this at a press briefing in Accra on Monday, September 29, after an engagement with the pay-TV provider.

“This new arrangement means Ghanaians will get more services for less,” Mr George explained. “It is a commitment by MultiChoice to respond to the concerns of subscribers in Ghana, and the offer is unmatched anywhere else in Africa.”

He explained that per the agreement reached, existing and new customers will automatically be upgraded to higher packages while paying the same old prices.

Providing details, the Minister said subscribers on the Padi bouquet, which currently costs GH¢59, will automatically be upgraded to the Access bouquet, valued at GH¢99, and enjoy 35 extra channels. This represents an effective saving of 40%.

Those on the Access bouquet (GH¢99) will be upgraded to the Family bouquet, which usually costs GH¢190, with 19 extra channels, giving them 48% in effective savings.

Additionally, those paying for the Family package (GH¢190) will move up to the Compact bouquet, priced at GH¢380. This upgrade adds 22 more channels, including live football matches, and represents a 50% effective saving.

Subscribers on Compact (GH¢380) will be upgraded to Compact Plus (GH¢570), with 12 more channels and a 33% effective saving.

For Compact Plus customers (GH¢570), DStv will automatically upgrade them to the Premium bouquet, priced at GH¢865, adding 18 more channels with an effective saving of 34%.

Premium customers, who already pay GH¢865, will continue enjoying the full package but with an additional benefit.

They will be entered automatically into a competition to win a fully paid trip to watch selected English Premier League matches, subject to terms and conditions.

According to the Minister, “no restrictions on the bouquet a subscriber chooses.”
