Two individuals, a brother and sister-in-law, who were severely injured in an alleged attack by the suspect, Emmabuel Yeboah, have succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment.
The incident occurred at Tain-Ano No. 1 in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region, stemming from a violent confrontation over a cashew farm dispute.
A long-standing feud between Emmanuel Yeboah and his brother over the ownership of the cashew plantation escalated into physical violence when the suspect allegedly attacked his brother and sister-in-law with a cutlass after they confronted him about working on the farm.
The victims sustained severe cutlass wounds during the altercation and were rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in Drobo for medical treatment.
Unfortunately, according to an update provided by Nana Kwame on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the two victims did not survive their injuries.
Meanwhile, Berekum Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Mr Osei Kofi Amoako Esq., has remanded Emmanuel Yeboah into police custody in connection with offences of attempted murder and causing harm.
The suspect was arrested on 3rd January 2026 by the Bono Regional Police Command following a report of an attack in which two individuals sustained multiple injuries.
Preliminary investigations by the police indicate that Emmanuel Yeboah ambushed the victims, his brother and his brother’s wife, while they were on their way to a disputed cashew farm, with the attack believed to have been triggered by a long-standing disagreement over ownership of the farm.
Emmanuel Yeboah is expected to reappear before the Berekum Circuit Court on 12th January 2026 for the continuation of proceedings.
