Ghanaian side Aduana Stars have boldly declared their intention to eliminate Kumasi Asante Kotoko from the MTN FA Cup when the two sides clash on February 8, 2026.
The club maintains that they are better prepared and currently possess a stronger squad than Kotoko heading into this highly anticipated Round of 16 fixture.
Speaking on Rainbow Sports, the club’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Evans Opoku Maestro, asserted that Aduana Stars are ready to make history by defeating the Kumasi-based giants on their own turf to secure a quarter-final berth.
“This season, our priority is to lift the cup, and we are optimistic that we are on course to do so,” Maestro told host Kwabena Gyasi (aka ‘Fantastic KG’). “When you want to be the champion of any tournament, you have to put in the hard work. We have done that. Our players are well-prepared and fully focused on kicking Kotoko out of the competition.”
Despite never having secured a victory against Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Mr. Maestro believes this season marks a turning point.

He emphasised that the team’s motivation is at an all-time high.
He said “The management, players, and supporters are fully aligned.”
While acknowledging Kotoko’s strength, the club has tailored its preparation specifically for this high-stakes encounter.
“The objective is to go beyond this round and satisfy their ultimate goal of winning the FA Cup trophy this year. “Kotoko is a strong team, and when meeting them, you have to prepare—and that is exactly what we have done,” he concluded.
