Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku maintains that it is premature to discuss seeking another term in office.
With nearly two years remaining in his current mandate, Okraku noted that his primary focus remains on the work at hand rather than future elections.
Reflecting on his leadership, Mr. Okraku highlighted that he assumed control of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) during one of the most turbulent periods in the nation’s sporting history.
“I think it is a subject I don’t want to talk about now. We have a little under two years to go. It is a long time for me to make a decision. I’ve had the chance to serve the game. I took over football at a time that Ghana football faced the most challenging period ever since football started in our country,” he said.
When questioned about his role at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and whether it conflicts with his domestic duties, Okraku dismissed any concerns regarding his workload. He emphasized that his passion for the sport provides him with the necessary “energy levels” to excel in both capacities.
According to Okraku, his sole desire is to serve the game, and he remains committed to giving his best regardless of the platform.
He described his experience at the highest level of continental football as an “eye-opener,” admitting that while it is his first time in such a position, he remains eager to continue learning.
