The Christian Council of Ghana, led by the General Secretary, Reverend Dr Cyril Fayose, this morning led a high-powered delegation to confer with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana, His Excellency Mr Zia Choudhury, at his Ridge Office, Accra, today, Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Discussions centred on welcoming Mr Choudhury as the new Resident Coordinator and further strengthening long-existing joint cooperation between the United Nations and the Christian Council of Ghana, spanning several decades.

Mainly, the meeting focused on how to give more depth to Ghana’s implementation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in line with the nation’s broader development agenda.

The CCG Team was made up of the General Secretary, Rev. Dr Cyril Fayose; Rev. Lawson, former Vice Chairman of CCG; Dr Joyce Steiner, Director of Programmes and Advocacy; Mr Koku Anyidoho, Communications Advisor; and Rev. Jehoaida Koku Amuzu, Head of Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations. The UN team, led by H.E. Zia Choudhury, included Ms Cynthia Prah, Head of the UN Information Centre in Accra, and Dr Mathias Awonnatey Ateng, National Peace and Development Advisor.
