The Ashanti Regional Police Command, in a series of intelligence-led operations, has arrested twelve (12) suspects connected to various robberies in the region.
Three of the suspects have been linked to the murder of the Kusasi chief at Asawase, Kumasi.
The suspects are Abdalah Alhassan, Jemini Usman (Babamu), Aminu Iddrisu (0244), Illiasu Dauda, Majeed Issaka Jibril, Gafaru Ibrahim, Mohammed Mumuni alias Mama, Tanko Malik alias Bronze, Mohammed Bawa alias Mallam, Dramani Musah, Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow.

Suspects Jamil Usman, alias Babamu, alias Guru; Suleman Yasir Arafat, alias Obasanjo; and Ashaidu Sumbieda, alias Eyeshadow, have been linked to the murder of the Kusasi Chief at Asawase, Kumasi. A Toyota Corolla vehicle with the registration number GC•439-21, believed to have been used by the suspects, has been retrieved.
Two (2) other suspects, Illiasu Bawa and David Aheto, sustained gunshot injuries during the operation and were later pronounced dead.

Other exhibits recovered during the operation were two (2) AK-47 assault rifles, one (1) pump-action gun, two (2) pistols, forty-four (44) rounds of .32 ammunition, and twenty-four (24) rounds of 9mm ammunition.
One other suspect, Illiasu, alias Abodam, remains at large, and efforts are underway to bring him to justice.
