Nana Osei Kissi, the Benkumhene of Kwahu Obomeng and Committee Chairman of the Kwahu Easter Festival, has assured the public that the 2026 celebrations are set to be a massive homecoming.

The traditional ruler noted that activities for participating revellers have been meticulously planned, supported by intensive security measures to ensure an incident-free Easter.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he emphasised that the 2026 edition will be exceptional, featuring everything from cultural displays and competitions to grand durbars.

This year’s lineup includes the iconic paragliding event at Odweanoma, high-energy concerts featuring Asaaka music, and the Kwahu Business Forum scheduled for April 3–4, 2026.

To manage the anticipated crowds, key safety measures and robust security protocols—including emergency medical teams—are being implemented.

The Eastern North Regional Police are increasing their presence across the Kwahu ridge to ensure total safety.

The chairman clarified that the visible security presence is not intended to intimidate or suggest a threat; rather, it is to ensure that every participant can enjoy the festivities without fear. He encouraged visitors to come prepared to explore the street jams, concerts, and vibrant celebrations that will take over the entire mountain area.

Regarding the scope of the event, Nana Osei Kissi stated: “Several activities will take place across the Kwahu area during the Easter period. These include street carnivals in various towns, musical concerts, nightlife events, cultural performances, and traditional displays. Our desire is that the Easter activities will be organised peacefully under strict protocols, devoid of violent activities.

This is an annual festival that brings together people from all walks of life, whether Christians, Muslims, or those of other beliefs. We encourage Ghanaians from both home and abroad, as well as foreigners, to come over and experience the festival. It will allow them to learn about and enjoy the rich cultural activities in the area. We have also taken steps to replace all faulty street lights in the various communities.”
