Member of Parliament for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Hon. Worlase Kpeli Esq, has hailed the Kwahu Easter Festival as a significant cultural event that promotes heritage and unity while also driving economic growth in the Eastern Region.
Commenting on a statement by the Mpraeso MP, Hon. Davis Ansah Opoku, Hon. Kpeli noted that the festival brings together citizens from cosmopolitan cities to appreciate their roots and develop their communities.
He highlighted the festival’s economic impact, citing increased investment and tourism opportunities, including water tourism and sports, which is expected to take place following the completion of the bridge between Kweu Adoso and Achie Amanfrom.
Hon. Kpeli expressed optimism that the festival would continue to attract visitors and investors, creating jobs and stimulating local economic growth.
Hon. Kpeli commended the government for rehabilitating the Adoso-Achie Amanfrom road, saying it would boost the festival’s morale and enhance accessibility to the region’s tourist attractions.
He credited the NDC government for its efforts, stating that such initiatives demonstrate the party’s commitment to developing the country’s tourism sector.
The MP suggested replicating such festivals nationwide to promote cultural exchange, economic development, and social interaction, saying it would make Ghana a better place to live.
He emphasised the importance of harnessing the country’s cultural heritage to drive national development, urging fellow parliamentarians to support initiatives that promote tourism and cultural exchange.
