This initiative forms part of a broader effort to assess and systematically address the digital requirements of students nationwide.

According to the Minister, this assessment is already underway, specifically targeting learners from preschool and kindergarten through to Junior High School.

The lawmaker explained that the exercise is expected to provide a clear picture of the gaps in digital access and usage within the current education system.

“The government of Ghana is currently doing a digital assessment needs of all students from pre school through kindergarten to junior high school. We are also working as a government to have a digital education policy for Ghana.”

To facilitate the creation of this framework, a dedicated review team has been established to examine critical infrastructure, the availability of digital tools for educators, and the seamless integration of technology into daily classroom instruction.

Haruna Iddrisu stressed that, once completed, the policy will serve as a definitive guide for the rollout of digital learning initiatives in schools across the country.

Ultimately, this move is expected to transform how educational content is delivered and accessed, particularly at the foundational levels.

The Minister concluded by highlighting that improving digital literacy among students has become a primary priority as the government works to equip the youth with the essential skills required for an increasingly technology-driven world.
