Member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Hon. Ida Adjoa Asiedu, has cut sod for the expansion of the Coaltar Health Centre, describing it as a major step to improve healthcare delivery in the constituency.
The expansion works will deliver modern male and female wards, a new consulting room, toilet facilities, and general upgrades to the existing structure, including painting and concrete works.
Hon. Asiedu also announced that delivery rooms at the Asuboi and Amanase health centres will be renovated to strengthen maternal healthcare services across Ayensuano.
The initiative is being funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), which she said is “dedicated to community development projects” and “carefully allocated to projects that directly benefit our people”.
The MP noted that Ayensuano missed out on the Agenda 111 hospital project due to land litigation challenges. “We are determined to expand and improve our existing facilities to meet the growing healthcare needs of our communities,” she stated.
At the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Asiedu donated essential medical equipment and supplies to the Coaltar Health Centre. The items included delivery beds, foetal Doppler machines, blood pressure apparatus, weighing scales, and other critical logistics to support healthcare delivery.
Beyond health, the MP said she is pursuing other key interventions. These include a factory project “nearing completion” to create jobs for the youth, intensified community engagement to tackle teenage pregnancy, and sustained support for Ayensuano students in tertiary institutions.
“I remain fully committed to delivering on my promises and working tirelessly to make Ayensuano a better place for all,” Hon. Asiedu said. She thanked the Health Directorate, traditional leaders, and community members for their continuous support.
