The Inspector General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) has arrested a woman who allegedly threatened the life of President John Dramani Mahama in videos shared widely on social media.
The suspect, identified as Mahama Aminat—popularly known as Akosua Serwaa Minat—was apprehended for offensive conduct. In the viral TikTok clips, she is seen making insulting remarks about the President, issuing death threats against him, and inciting members of the public to cause harm to both the Head of State and the First Lady.
Her arrest followed a coordinated tracking effort. On 19 May 2026, a joint operation was launched by the CVET and the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Department.
This led to her capture the following day, 20 May 2026, at Sekyere Zongo in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region.
The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be arraigned before court shortly as investigations continue.
