The Ghanaian entertainment industry is in mourning following the sudden passing of actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo Baah.
She died at the age of 42.
Her husband, Eugene Kwadwo Boadu Baah—known as Choirmaster of the hiplife group Praye—confirmed the news on Sunday, May 24.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife,” Baah shared in an emotional social media tribute.
He noted that her passing occurred just four days before her 43rd birthday on May 28. “I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you.”
While the family has not released an official cause of death, the announcement triggered widespread grief from fans and colleagues.
Some fans recalled a previous interview where Beverly discussed her family’s history with cancer, having lost both her father and sister to the disease, fueling speculation of a private health battle.
Born in 1983 in the Volta Region, Beverly was a trained beauty therapist and an alumna of the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She became an actress in the 2000s and 2010s, starring in films such as ‘Return of Beyonce’ (2006), ‘Crime to Christ’ (2007), ‘Girls Connection’ (2008), ‘The Game’ (2010), and ‘Single Six’ (2011).
In addition to acting, Beverly was a dedicated entrepreneur, operating the Glamour Beauty Salon in Tema, B.A.B Handyman services, and the Traffic Shawarma franchise.
In his tribute, Choirmaster vowed to protect her legacy and care for their two daughters. “You were my strength, my happiness… I promise to continue everything we planned and started.”
