A thorough search of the impounded truck uncovered 12 large sacks and 80 individually wrapped parcels of compressed plant material, heavily bound in sellotape.

Preliminary police inquiries indicate the illicit cargo was loaded at Kpeve in the Volta Region and was destined for delivery in Ada.

According to a statement signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police, both the suspect and the vehicle remain in custody to assist with ongoing investigations.

The police command reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and urged members of the community to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement.
