A five-year-old boy, Elias Dzimado, was found dead in an uncompleted building early Tuesday morning, hours after he was reported missing.
The child went missing on the morning of June 16, 2026. Despite an immediate search by local authorities and community members, he was not located during the day.
His lifeless body was eventually discovered at approximately 3:00 AM on Wednesday.
Elias was the son of Prosper Dzimado and Rita Kumah, a local fried fish vendor in Kotoso.
The incident has shaken the community, leaving residents in fear over the sudden tragedy.
Police have retrieved the body and deposited it at the morgue for an autopsy.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death is currently underway.
