The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three former students of the Hohoe E.P. Senior High School after a video emerged on social media showing the destruction of school property.

The arrests follow an official complaint lodged by school authorities on Friday, 19th June 2026.

According to school management, a group of approximately five completed students unlawfully damaged the school’s water pipeline system immediately after writing their final examination, before departing for their respective homes.

Following the report, the Regional Police Command initiated intelligence surveillance, leading to the apprehension of three suspects.

The police have identified the detained individuals as Rashid Suraj Dakpo, aged 19, Alhassan Mohammed, aged 20, and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, also 20.

They have since been handed over to the Regional Investigations Department to assist with ongoing enquiries and are being processed to face criminal trial.

In an official press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Inspector Felix Kwao, the Command expressed growing concern over the rising trend of such unruly behaviour among completing students. Inspector Kwao warned that any student caught engaging in acts of vandalism will face the full rigours of the law, adding that active efforts are still underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who feature in the viral footage.

The police administration has further urged parents, guardians, and educators to consistently counsel their children and wards regarding the severe legal and personal consequences of such destructive actions.
