Mahama confirms three Deputy Comptrollers-General for Ghana Immigration Service

President John Dramani Mahama has officially confirmed the appointments of three Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), elevating them from their acting capacities to substantive roles to bolster national security and institutional governance.

The promotions, announced in an official release by the GIS Public Affairs Department, come on the recommendation of the GIS Governing Council and with the strategic advice of the Public Services Commission.

Under the new leadership structure, Deputy Comptroller-General Evelyn Lolonyo Lotsu takes over the Finance and Administration Directorate, while Deputy Comptroller-General Faisal Disu has been appointed to command the Post and Operations Directorate.

The Legal, Research, and Monitoring Directorate will be overseen by Deputy Comptroller-General Philip Peter Andoh.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Samuel Basintale Amadu, expressed high optimism for the future of the service following the confirmations. He lauded the newly appointed deputies for their professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty, noting that their proven leadership will be vital to the institution’s evolving mission.

“In their substantive roles, they will continue to strengthen the Service, promote good governance, and advance the nation’s security and development,” Amadu stated, pledging the full support of the management team as the officers step into their new responsibilities.
