The fatal shooting occurred as nationwide protests against foreign nationals escalated into severe violence across several neighbourhoods.

The deceased had resided and worked in South Africa for approximately two decades, establishing his livelihood there.

He leaves behind three young children, the eldest of whom is just ten years old.

Diplomatic officials from the Ghana High Commission have stated that they are coordinating arrangements to return his body to Ghana, allowing his family to conduct traditional burial rites and final funeral arrangements.
