The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly disrupting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Executive Election at Bidieso in Obuasi.
The suspects, identified as Haruna Iddrisu, also known as Dole; Osei Boateng, alias Nana Osei; and Charles Opoku, widely known as Blackman, are accused of storming the polling station on Sunday, 12th July 2026.

The suspects have since been arraigned before the Bekwai Circuit Court, facing charges of conspiracy to commit crime and rioting with weapons.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail in the sum of GHS 50,000.00 each, with two justified sureties.
The court has adjourned the case to 10th August 2026. Meanwhile, investigations remain active as the police work to apprehend other fleeing suspects linked to the disturbance.
