The Ghana Police Service has arrested Sibamay Zakaria, the man captured in a viral video physically assaulting a suspect.
His arrest follows a manhunt declared by law enforcement after the video triggered widespread public outrage, with calls for immediate accountability and justice.
According to the police, Zakaria is currently in custody assisting with ongoing investigations and will be processed for court.
Meanwhile, the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) has launched an enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police administration assured the public that all individuals found culpable will face the necessary disciplinary procedures in accordance with service regulations.
