Police in the Upper East Region have apprehended fourteen individuals suspected of cultivating and distributing narcotic drugs during a targeted operation at Daliga in the Nabdam District.

The suspects—identified as Alex Nyaaba, Charles Keleg Dombil, Zimi Pandam, Jennifer Ziini, Tobirr Naab, Yinteng James, Tosil Wandabil, Sandanane Peehim, Borimi Nohoo, Curim Teng, Curim Kugri, Nohou Dagobila, and Abane Zangbeog—were picked up on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The swoop was executed through a joint intelligence-led operation involving the Police Intelligence Directorate and the newly established Black Cobra Team.

A search conducted at the scene uncovered a substantial quantity of suspected narcotic drugs concealed within sacks of millet and maize.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the illicit crops were interplanted with regular agricultural produce, a deliberate tactic designed to mask the farms from law enforcement view.

Police sources believe the syndicate serves as a major supply hub, distributing narcotics to various peddlers across the region. All fourteen suspects remain in custody assisting with further investigations and are scheduled to appear in court shortly.
