The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the approved structure of filing fees for its upcoming constituency executive elections.
The schedule, signed and issued by the Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, sets out the financial requirements for prospective candidates contesting various internal party positions at the constituency level.
According to the official release, aspirants contesting the chairmanship position will pay the highest fee of GHC 5,000.00. Candidates vying for the positions of Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Organiser are required to pay GHC 3,000.00 each, whilst those seeking the Communications Officer role are expected to pay GHC 2,500.00.
Candidates filing for the Treasurer, Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Youth Organiser, and Women’s Organiser positions will pay GHC 1,500.00 each. Meanwhile, aspirants for the offices of Deputy Secretary, Deputy Organiser, Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Communications Officer, Deputy Youth Organiser, Other Youth Representative, and Deputy Women’s Organiser will pay GHC 1,000.00 each. Aspirants contesting for the eight other member positions are required to pay GHC 500.00.
The party management stipulated that all payments must be processed through the approved online platform.
To promote inclusivity, the party outlined specific concessions for female candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Female candidates and PWDs are entitled to a 50 per cent discount on filing fees across all positions, with the exception of the Women’s Organiser and Deputy Women’s Organiser portfolios. However, female candidates living with disabilities will pay half of the filing fee when contesting for the Women’s Organiser and Deputy Women’s Organiser roles.
