A popular Nigerian social media influencer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, known online as “KC Luxury”, has been intercepted by security operatives in Lagos following a massive international drug trafficking probe.
The 49-year-old suspect, who boasts nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram, was apprehended at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to board a business-class flight to Paris.
His arrest follows a major sting operation linked to the interception of cocaine with an estimated street value of nearly $28 million, which investigators believe was destined for the United Kingdom.
Anti-narcotics agents moved in on the suspect at the departure hall after linking him to the illicit syndicate behind the massive shipment. Security agencies have intensified cross-border intelligence sharing as investigations continue to unveil the full extent of the syndicate’s operations.
The suspect remains in law enforcement custody as legal proceedings gather momentum.
