GNFS debunks rumours of unpaid 2025 rent allowances, assures personnel on 2026 payments

The Management of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging the non-payment of rent allowances for the year 2025.

Describing the claims as false and unfounded, the Service clarified that all financial obligations regarding the 2025 rent allowance have been fully settled.

In an official statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Divisional Officer I (DO I) Emmanuel Bonney, the GNFS explained that the final disbursement for the previous year was completed earlier this year.

“Management wishes to state categorically that the information is false and unfounded, as the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026,” the statement read.

Addressing concerns regarding the current year’s packages, the Service assured officers that measures are actively being put in place to process the 2026 rent allowances without unnecessary delay.

“With regards to the 2026 rent allowance, we wish to inform all personnel that a committee is in place to ensure the mechanisation takes effect soon,” DO I Bonney stated.

The GNFS leadership extended its appreciation to personnel for their continuous patience and dedication to duty, reaffirming its commitment to prioritizing staff welfare and maintaining open lines of communication.

“Management appreciates the patience of personnel and would like to reassure them of its commitment in addressing all issues of welfare including compensation and will continue to operate an open-door policy of being transparent with information,” the statement noted.

The Service further urged the public and officers to disregard the speculative reports and refrain from spreading unverified information on social platforms.
