Aggrieved customers of Gold Coast Fund Management are set to hold a public gathering in Accra on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to demand the urgent payment of their outstanding locked-up funds. Organised by the leadership of the group, the exercise will commence at 9:00 a.m. at the forecourt of the Ebenezer Presby Church in Osu, after which the conveners plan to present a petition to President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Frontline, the Convener of the group, Charles Nyame, urged all affected individuals to participate in large numbers. He emphasised that their collective unity and peaceful determination remain critical in pressing their demands. He also appealed to victims of other collapsed financial institutions to join the protest, highlighting that the broader financial sector crisis continues to affect thousands of Ghanaian families.
Lamenting the severe hardship, pain, and anxiety caused by the persistent failure to disburse the payments, Mr Nyame recalled campaign promises made ahead of the 2026 general elections. He expressed disappointment that the issue was not addressed in recent budget presentations, adding that petitions sent to various state institutions have yielded no response or hearing.
“President Mahama was the one who promised to pay us, and so we voted massively for him. Our families also voted massively for him because we trusted he would pay us after winning power. However, that has failed to materialise. That is why we are protesting and demanding our money,” he stated.
