ECG announces six-hour power cut in parts of Ashanti Region on September 1

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise in parts of the Ashanti Region scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

According to the power distribution company, the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and overall operational efficiency across the regional network.

The maintenance work will result in a temporary power outage lasting six hours, starting from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Areas set to experience the outage include Tikrom, parts of Ekyem, Adako Jachie, Crop Research, Achase, Buobai, Parkoso, Akokoamong, parts of Yam Market, Dote, and Duase New Site around Estate Junction. Residents in Sepe Dote Allahuakbar, Asawase, Old Krapa, Bronikrom, Apromase, Kuma Farms, Bonwire, Amanpe, Adawomase, Baman, and Kenyase Gyedim will also be affected.

Additional locations listed in the maintenance notice encompass parts of Effiduase, Ntukumso, Bouya, Oseikrom, Effiduase Asokore, Onwe, Achina, Asinimpong, Kwaso Donaso, Tafo, New Road, Abawa Ruth, Tafo Hospital Mmofrature, Kumawu, Dadease, Oyoko, Banko, Atwea, and parts of Asokore Mampong CCC.

The utility provider expressed regret over the inconvenience the power interruption will cause to commercial and residential customers in the affected communities during the period.
