The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially reopened its portal to allow defaulters and private candidates to apply for PIN codes for the 2026/2027 service year.
According to the Authority, the portal reopened on Monday, August 31, 2026, and will remain accessible until the final deadline on Friday, September 4, 2026.
The window is open to Ghanaian nationals who completed their studies abroad, candidates falling under the private and defaulter categories, and individuals who faced extenuating circumstances during the regular registration period.
Management of the scheme explained that the decision is intended to give eligible persons a final opportunity to complete their online registration and submit all required documentation at designated NSA offices across the country within the stipulated timeframe.
Applicants have been strongly advised to ensure that all registration requirements and supporting documents are submitted on or before the September 4 deadline, as no further extensions will be granted.
“Please note that Friday, 4th September 2026, shall be the Final Deadline for the application of Pin-Codes for Defaulters and Private Candidates under this extension,” the Authority stated in an official release.
The Management also reminded the public of the legal requirement governing national service, referencing the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), which mandates every Ghanaian citizen who completes an accredited tertiary institution to undertake national service to the State.
The NSA urged all affected individuals to take advantage of the brief extension to regularise their status and obtain their PIN codes to avoid further delays in fulfilling their mandatory national service duty.
