Concerned residents of Abuakwa North of New Tafo and Anyinasin have expressed their dissatisfaction with the community’s poor roadways.

Mr. Wilson Dakudze, also known as Abenbebom, and Mr. Kofi Asante, a voting station executive at Anyinasin Methodist Primary, organised a demonstration on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Placards with phrases such as “Where is our share of the road?” “Remember and keep your promises, Mr. President,” and “Is Anyinasin not part of Ghana?”Why, Mr. President? ‘Abuakwa North paa nie!!!!!!’, ‘Bo Ne B3n Nkuaa’, ‘Abuakwa North deserves better’, and more.

The group argued that their road network had deteriorated over time and that President Akufo-Addo, who began his political career in Abuakwa, had refused to listen to their concerns, causing immense difficulties in Abuakwa North.

They claim that the poor road conditions from Opass Junction to Old Tafo Junction, from Old Tafo to Anyinasin, and from Crig to Nobi have caused them difficulty and vehicle damage.

Residents reported that armed robbers had also taken advantage of the situation and robbed them due to the poor condition of their roadways.

Wilson Dakudze, aka Abenbebom, stated on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio (87.5 FM) that driving at night is difficult and dangerous due to the bad roads.

He noted that in circumstances of medical and critical emergencies, the status of the roadways poses an imminent hazard that could impede police and emergency services from reaching troubled citizens quickly.

“This government has disappointed us, particularly the president, his vice president, and the minister of roads and highways.” The minister promised us that the awful roads would be built in three months, but they have yet to deliver.”
