The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, stated that the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) is not only a student wing, but it is the living heartbeat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s political future.

Speaking at the TEIN-UCC Conference on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Central Region, Dr. Apaak saluted the members of TEIN for their passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication during the just-ended national elections.

“You were not just observers but you were key actors on the frontlines mobilizing, campaigning, educating, and defending our ideals,” he noted.

Dr. Apaak praised TEIN’s role in the elections, saying, “From the frontlines, TEIN has proven itself as a beacon of hope, courage, and determination.”

He noted that TEIN’s role extends beyond
triumph, emphasizing that it’s about reclaiming their voice in national strategy, shaping policies that reflect their values, and ensuring collective aspirations are met. The Deputy Minister encouraged TEIN members to remain active, informed, and organised.

The NDC has a plan for TEIN members beyond campus life, with opportunities for job placements, entrepreneurship support, or further academic opportunities.

The Builsa South assured them that “our commitment to you does not end with gratitude.” With this support, TEIN members can continue to drive progress and shape Ghana’s future.

As Dr. Apaak aptly put it, “This victory is as much yours as it is for the entire NDC fraternity.”

He explained to the students how the government’s digital jobs initiative will create jobs for young people.

“One Million Coders Programme recently launched intends to train one million young Ghanaians in digital skills such as coding, WebApp development, software engineering, among others, for jobs in the digital eco-system.

“Regional Digital Centres (modeled on the Accra Digital Centre) to facilitate the expansion of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) sectors for job creation.

“A $50 million FinTech Growth Fund will be established to promote the growth of digital entrepreneurs and support indigenous FinTech companies,” he said in part.
