The Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency, Hon. Alfred Nii Ashie Kotey, has raised two critical questions on the floor of Parliament regarding the persistent lack of access to piped water and perennial flooding in the area.

For over six and a half years, residents of Odododiodio have struggled to access clean water, forcing them to fetch water from distant sources, which can be unwholesome. The Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Resources acknowledged the challenge, citing population growth as a contributing factor, and outlined steps to address the issue.

The MP assured constituents that they will follow up to ensure the ministry’s plans are implemented and expressed trust in the government’s commitment to providing basic needs, including water.

On the issue of flooding, the MP highlighted the plight of low-lying areas, particularly Agbogoshi and Old Fadama, where water accumulates and causes mess and stagnant water. The minister outlined plans to construct drains to channel water into the Kole Lagoon, starting from Adabraka and heading towards Agbogoshi.

The MP pledged to follow up on the project and work towards paving the entire township to improve living conditions.

Residents can expect to see development and benefit from the initiatives, the MP assured.
