Mahdi Gibril, the Acting Director of Elections and IT for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has dismissed a viral social media statement claiming the party has been allocated specific recruitment slots within the security services as entirely fraudulent.
During an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Mr. Gibril emphasized that the NDC has neither authorized such a directive nor reached any decision regarding security service.
placements. He argued that the false statement was a calculated attempt to damage the party’s reputation and clarified that the NDC has no intention of interfering in the current recruitment processes.
Addressing the poliktical climate, Mr. Gibril. suggested that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is attempting to shift the public narrative after failing to gain political leverage regarding cocoa price issues.
He further asserted that the NPP lacks the moral authority to criticize the NDC on recruitment matters, citing a promise made by the NPP’s 2028 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, 0 provide jobs specifically for party coordinators.
Commenting on the situation, Mr. Gibril stated:
Kj”The NPP should not even be talking about this because its presidential candidate has promised to give party coordinators jobs. We don’t have the time to waste on this needless fake story. Also, the NPP has failed in making political capital out of the cocoa-related issues, and so they have decided to fabricate these false stories.”
In an interview with host Kwabena Agyapong, he urged Ghanaians to view the NPP’s claims with skepticism, suggesting the opposition has little to offer the nation’s development.
While acknowledging that some party supporters have expressed frustration over the recruitment procɓess, he maintained that the authorities have implemented strict measures to ensure that all qualified applicants are treated fairly and without favoritism.
Mr. Gibril reaffirmed that the government remains focused on its national transformation agenda and will not be swayed by misinformation.
