During the meeting, Dr Asuman formally announced the landmark launch of Ghana’s first Climate Atlas.

He described this pioneering tool as essential for projecting weather patterns over the next 50 to 100 years, thereby empowering planners, engineers, and farmers to make evidence-based, long-term decisions.

He reaffirmed that the Agency’s core mandate remains the provision of seasonal forecasts to support the aviation and agricultural sectors, alongside the general public.

Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II warmly welcomed the delegation to his palace, commending the Agency for its steadfast dedication and the notably improved accuracy of its meteorological predictions.

He acknowledged that the Agency’s work has become increasingly vital as traditional seasonal patterns undergo visible shifts.

To further enhance the impact of their work, the Sunyanimanhene urged the team to maintain a consistent presence on radio and television. He specifically highlighted the necessity of utilising rural information centres, which serve as the primary knowledge hubs for local farmers.

To ensure no one is left behind, he advised that forecasts be presented in various local languages, making technical data accessible to all. Finally, he recommended a more robust social media strategy to leverage the growing influence of digital platforms in modern communication.
