Police officers in the Greater Accra Region have arrested five suspects following a joint intelligence-led operation at Sapeiman Faase.
The operation, carried out by the Accra Regional Police Command alongside the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID) on Friday, 17th July 2026, led to the retrieval of several firearms, ammunition, and other offensive items.

The suspects have been identified as 50-year-old Torgbui Agah Semaglo, Shadrach Agah Semaglo, 22, William Kweku Sedanu, 21, Cyril Kassenu, 26, and 18-year-old Kingsford Agah Semaglo.
Items recovered during a search of the suspects’ premises included a pump-action gun, a Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, a dummy Austria pistol, a jackknife, a face mask, twelve BB cartridges, three rounds of 9mm ammunition, one AK-47 round, a talisman, and two kitchen knives.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the individuals belong to a criminal gang engaged in armed robbery and landguard activities within Sapeiman and surrounding communities.
In an official statement, the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Chief Superintendent Ms. Juliana Obeng, confirmed that all exhibits have been retained for evidential purposes while the suspects remain in custody.

“The suspects are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to establish their involvement in other robbery cases and related criminal activities,”
Chief Superintendent Obeng stated. She added that measures are actively underway to “establish their involvement in other criminal activities and to apprehend any additional accomplices.”

The Accra Regional Police Command praised members of the public for supplying vital information and encouraged residents to stay vigilant by reporting suspicious movements to the nearest police station or through emergency hotlines.

“The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the Region,” the statement concluded.
