The Sekyere Kumawu Assembly in the Ashanti region has passed a resolution to transfer the district education director.
During their first general assembly meeting of the year, Assembly members approved the resolution.
According to the presiding member, Hon. Fareed Ofori, the director’s performance has been dismal.
He said that the education director’s poor performance had a negative impact on the schools’ performance after each BECE and WASSCE exam.
He states that the resolution will be forwarded to the Ghana Education Service.
“We passed several resolutions, one of which stated that we want the current education director to be transferred.” He has underperformed. His performance has not been stellar. Our children’s exam results have been dismal. We want him out of this district because he is inept.”
He said that the Assembly discussed agricultural concerns and urged the government to provide more inputs to farmers in the assembly to help them improve their crops.
Road issues and revenue generation were also considered.
