The inter-ministerial committee on illegal mining dissolved

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has dissolved the Inter-ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).

Information gathered by Rainbowradioonline.com has it that the president has directed that the fight against illegal mining be moved from the Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation to the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry.

The committee was established in Nana Addo’s first term to help deal with galamsey.

The president at a point put his presidency on the line saying he was ready to lose his seat in his quest to deal with galamsey which had destroyed our water bodies in the areas they are practiced.

The Committee was headed by the former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.
