Ernest Thompson Quartey, former coach of Kumasi Ashanti Gold, praised Ghana’s Black Galaxies for qualifying for the CHAN tournament despite losing to Nigeria on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
He praised the team for qualifying.
He did, however, single out a few players he believes deserve special mention and a spot in the Black Stars squad for the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
He would be surprised if Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is not called up to the World Cup squad.
In his view, the player has demonstrated exceptional qualities and deserves to join our final squad for the world.
He stated in an interview with Rainbow Sports that he would be surprised if the player is not considered for the squad.
Meanwhile, he has mentioned Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim as another player worth considering.
He also mentioned Mohammed Alhasan of Hearts of Oak, Denis Korsah, David Abagna, and Awako as potential talents to consider.
In the second leg of the final qualifying round, the Black Galaxies were defeated 2-0 by the Super Eagles.
Annor Walker’s team advanced after winning on post-match penalty shootouts after a 2-2 aggregate score after defeating Nigeria 2-0 in the first leg in Cape Coast a week ago.
He was speaking to Andrews Kwabena Gyasi.
