Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars player, Reverend Osei Kofi, has added his voice to the current performance of the Black Stars ahead of the Qatar FIFA World Cup.
In an exclusive interview with Rainbow Radio, he stated, “the Black Stars have individual players but no team.” When we played Brazil in a friendly, the Black Stars as a team lacked a lot. Brazil used players who competed in their qualifying stages. “For the Black Stars, we have different players who played in the last AFCON, different players who played in the qualifiers, and even a set of new players who are currently playing.”
“You can see that we are now building a team. We have individual players, but collectively do not have a team. The friendly matches are really exposing us. Football is about understanding, you can have all the best players in your team, but you need them to play together for some time to get the best out of them.”
As part of their preparations for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Black Stars lost 0:3 to Brazil and won 1-0 against Nicaragua.
The Black Start are in Group H, alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.
