Former Black Stars player Sarfo Gyamfi, also known as Black President, has expressed his disappointment at Afene Gyan’s exclusion from the squad for the 2022 World Cup.
Although he agrees with the squad, the former player believes that excluding the player was a terrible mistake by coach Otto Addo.
Ghana’s Black Stars qualified for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The tournament will begin on November 20, 2022.
Otto Addo, the team’s coach, announced the squad that will compete in the World Cup.
Felix Afene Gyan, a former As Roma player who now plays for the newly promoted Cremonese in Italy, was left out of the coach’s squad.
In his submission of the coach’s names, Safo Gyamfi said the squad is good, but he disagreed with the coach for not selecting the young boy.
He stated that the boy was very important in the qualification of the black stars and that he played well and deserved the call-up.
He went on to say that the coach had killed the boy’s spirit and that he would never love playing for his country again.
He was speaking with Andrews Kwabena Gyasi on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm and Rainbow Radio 92.4Fm (UK).
