Leader and founder of True Lamp Worship Centre located at Danis a suburb of Buduburam in the Gomoa East District Prophet Isaac Kofi Agyiri has been fined Ghc50,000 for impregnating the wife of another man.
The woman is said to be the ex-fiancee of the self-proclaimed man of God.
But the two had been dating even though the woman, Janet Baah Opoku, had been married for over 15 years.
The pregnancy came up during a ceremony held by the woman’s and Ebenezer Baah’s families to annul their marriage.
At the ceremony, it was revealed that the woman was pregnant, but when asked why she was seeking an annulment of the marriage while she was pregnant for her husband, she stated that the husband was not responsible.
She then accused the prophet of being the cause of the pregnancy.
The woman’s family summoned the man of God, and when he appeared before them, he accepted responsibility for the pregnancy.
He was then fined Ghc50,000 and ordered to purchase a sheep and whisky for sleeping with and impregnating a married woman.
He did, however, tell the family that he would not pay a dime and that they could take him wherever they wanted.
The case was then brought before the Awustu Breku District Court, which was presided over by her Worship Naomi Kontor.
He admitted in court that he was responsible for the impregnation of Mr. Baah’s wife, with whom she has three children.
He has been given two weeks to pay the fine or face punishment from the court.
