A high-level team from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party leadership has met with the newly elected Constituency Executives of the Amenfi East Constituency in the Western Region.
The meeting, according to the NDC, was to address a protracted dispute in the area.
A statement issued by the NDC said the issues had been addressed and the parties involved had pledged to work together in the interest of the NDC.
“Factions at the meeting pledged to let bygones be bygones and uphold the advice of leadership to chart a new course and work together to maintain the Parliamentary seat and contribute to the NDC’s victory in 2024.”
The team from the National leadership that was sent to the area were Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu, Chairman of the Council of Elders; Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman; and Messrs. Kofi Totobi Quakyi and Joshua Alabi.
Nana Kojo Toku, Western Regional Chairman, and some Regional Executives led the Amenfi East constituency delegation to the meeting.
The party stressed that the meeting was intended to foster peace and unity among the constituency executives. Hon. Nicholas Amankwa, an NDC Member of Parliament, and stakeholders in the area.
