Some disgruntled supporters of Michael Nii Yarboi, a disqualified aspiring parliamentary candidate in the Odododiodioo Constituency, vandalised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) headquarters in Accra.
Supporters of the rejected candidate piled rubbish in front of the party’s headquarters, impeding traffic.
The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) has barred Mr. Nii Yarboi from running in the party’s next parliamentary primary in the Odododiodioo Constituency.
The decision was based on a report given by the Special Committee charged with investigating the violence that happened at Odododiodioo Constituency on October 13, 2023, during the vetting of parliamentary aspirants.
The police were called in to handle the situation.
This is not the first time the aspiring candidate’s supporters have taken over a party office.
They attacked the party office in the constituency a few weeks ago.
They trashed party property and arrested a Citi Fm journalist.
