President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared the country as safe and secure.
He indicated that the government took deliberate planning to keep the country safe and secure.
The President in his opening remarks while delivering the State of the Nation address stated that Ghana has not been affected by the extremism that is occurring in neighbouring countries because of proper planning.
He went on to state that the armed forces and all the security agencies have been resourced to work effectively.
“Our nation is “safe and secure,” he said.
The police, he added, are much better equipped than they have ever been, he added.
Meanwhile, he has also stated that “we can no longer take the territorial integrity of the country for granted,” considering the instability ongoing in other parts of Africa.
He also expressed worry over the ongoing crisis in Bawku saying the government is wasting resources that could have been used for other developmental projects to manage the crisis in Bawku.
