Ghanaian highlife musician Patrick Nana Kwakye, popularly known as Kwame Nut, has revealed that he started commercial music at the age of 14.
The young, talented musician said music was something he started at a tender age.
Speaking in an interview on the mid-morning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said he paid GHC40 for his first ever professional music recording.
He told host Sokoohemaa Kukua that his parents were very supportive of his decision to pursue music professionally.
He particularly commended DeOne Entertainment for supporting him at that tender age.
He noted that it has not been easy for him.
He opined that music is not an easy journey, especially if you want to pursue it on a commercial level.
He stressed that to succeed as a musician, you will need the resources and without it, you may end up giving up your dream.
“But I refused to give up. I pursued my dreams despite the challenges. Giving up was not part of my plan. I knew what I wanted and went for it.
“When I started music, it was not easy. The struggles and challenges were enormous. I went through a lot. But giving up was not part of the plan I had. My plan was to put in the hard work, and I can say it has paid off.”
