The Presidency has clarified that Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang was not sacked as the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) over malfeasance.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin.
He maintained that Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang’s dismissal was not due to misconduct or malfeasance.
Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang was removed from office on Monday, April 8, 2024.
He was asked to hand over to Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo by Monday, April 15.
It remains unclear why he was removed from office, but some have speculated that he was removed from office due to misconduct.
However, the statement has disputed that assertion.
According to the statement, President Akufo-Addo is pleased with Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang’s performance, as the institution experienced significant transformation under his leadership.
