The Weija Divisional Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old trotro driver, Daniel Appiah, for allegedly sexually abusing his 16-year-old daughter at Broadcasting near Kasoa Toll Booth in the Ga South municipality of Accra Region.
He was arrested today, Monday, April 22, 2024.
According to the victim (name withheld), the father started defiling her at age 9 until she turned 16.
The father reportedly told the victim not to inform anyone of her ordeal or she would die.
The victim further alleged that the father had sex with her three times during every session.
Reporting from the area on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Oheneba Ademah said the suspect has admitted to the offence.
He reported that the suspect admitted to the offence upon interrogation at the police station.
He also confessed to having a sexual intercourse with the daughter in their kitchen and other areas of their house, adding that she was his daughter and that was why he did that.
The police are currently investigating the matter and will soon process the suspect in court to face prosecution.
Some residents in the area have expressed shock at the incident and have appealed to the police to investigate the matter and ensure the suspect faces the full rigours of the law.
