President Akufo-Addo has eulogised the late John Kumah, describing him as effective and diligent at his job.
The President expressed his deep love and condolences for the late Ejisu MP, who passed away, and expressed his immense sadness upon learning of his passing.
Speaking at the final rally organised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency ahead of the April 30 by-election in Ejisu, the president said he appointed the late MP to head the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) in his first term.
In accessing his performance, the president said he performed so well to the point that he (the president) had to elevate him to the position of Deputy Minister in his second term.
The president went on to state that John Kumah was someone he saw his junior brother love.
“I was devastated following the death of John Kumah. He was my junior brother, and I loved him so much. When I won in 2021, I appointed him to head NEIP. Following his outstanding performance, I appointed and elevated him as Deputy Finance Minister in my second term. He performed so well as Deputy Minister, but God, in his own wisdom, has called him to eternity. Our ways are not God’s ways, and so we will wish him a peaceful rest.”
