Hon. George Dadzie Junior, Deputy National Coordinator for the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (RCOMSDEP), has stated that the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, led by President John Dramani Mahama, is focused on delivering practical results rather than engaging in unnecessary publicity.

Speaking on Rainbow Radio’s Weekend Morning Show, Hon. Dadzie said the government’s work and achievements speak for themselves, stressing that the administration remains truthful, committed and purposeful in its approach to governance and national development.

According to him, the Mahama-led administration is not one that seeks to make noise about every intervention, but rather one that believes in implementing policies and programmes that directly improve the lives of Ghanaians.

He noted that since the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme, the initiative has recorded progress in several mining communities, particularly through the introduction of subsidies and support mechanisms for stakeholders.

Hon. Dadzie Junior disclosed that subsidy-related interventions have been launched in communities including Anwia, Telebu and Bokazo in the Ellembelle District, with similar activities also taking place in some parts of the Ashanti Region.

He explained that the programme is intended to promote responsible mining practices, support skills development and create opportunities for people within mining communities, especially the youth.

Promoting Environmental Responsibility and Governance

The Deputy National Coordinator maintained that the RCOMSDEP initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to sanitise the mining sector, ensure that mining activities are conducted responsibly and provide sustainable livelihoods for communities affected by mining.

He said the government remains committed to rolling out the programme across other mining areas in the country, adding that the interventions will help improve the welfare of beneficiaries while promoting environmental responsibility.

Hon. Dadzie Junior urged Ghanaians to continue to support the government’s development agenda, indicating that the administration is determined to deliver on its promises through action, transparency and meaningful interventions rather than propaganda.
